Our Tidy Towns team meet three times a week every Wednesday (10.30am and 7.30pm) and Saturday mornings at 10.30am (reverts to just Saturdays Sept to March). We also provide opportunities and support for volunteering at a time that best suits the Volunteer. Our motto is “Do what you can – When you can, every little helps.”
We identify needs and improvements in a number of ways each year to support our three-year plan process. The needs analysis this year was very extensive and was a result of the need to look at how we were organised our annual priorities.
Once a year, we hold a structured planning session to capture needs that arose in the previous year. This is following consultation with the Community council, area engineer, residents, feedback from tidy towns report, our own volunteers, sports clubs, schools, heritage group, ICA, benchmarking with other tidy towns and finally identifying gaps in standards and practices with respect to the tidy towns handbook for each section of the standard.
We then identify priorities and projects due to start each year and improvement initiatives for our annual work plan which we review at least twice a month.

The annual plan and three year plans are reviewed also at our AGM. Our AGM was held on 23rd February 2024.
Over the past year, we have increased our engagement throughout the community in seeking to build Civic pride and Emotional pride in our beautiful village. This has been achieved through our communications campaign, engagement with our Community. We recruit new volunteers through multiple channels – Our social media pages, interacting with the community face to face when out in the village volunteering and through the Kinvara Community Council.
